Welcome to Jason Jones Photography!

It is a pleasure to have you visit my website! This page is just a little bit about me, what I do, and who I am.

Where it all started.

When I was a kid, probably about 8 or 9, my little sister and I got plastic little point and shoot Vivitar film cameras for Christmas. Really inexpensive ones. My sisters was neon pink. Mine was neon yellow. I remember anytime we went on a trip somewhere, I would buy some film (more accurately I would beg my mom and dad to), and proceed to take pictures during the trip. The running joke as I got older was, I sure could take a mean photo of a tree from a moving car!

As I got into high school, I decided to take the photography class. It was in that class that I first used that little Vivitar, artistically. I remember thinking if I could cock the shutter without advancing the film, I could take two photos on the same part of film. The result amazed me. Apart from that the magic that happened as I would put the exposed paper into the developer, and watched as the latent imaged miraculously became visible, hooked me.

Several years later I decided to give college a go, and of course, I enrolled in a photo class. While my attempts at college at that time in my life, were met with little passion, I did have a fire growing inside me for photography. It wasn't until I decided to really get serious about photography, that I knew what I would be doing for a career, for the first time in my life!

I decided that if I was going to take this seriously, I wanted to go to the best photography school I could. And that ids when I learned about Brooks Institute of Photography.

I had just got married, but we didn't let that stop us. While my wife stayed in our newly purchased home in Fullerton, Ca, I embarked on my degree in the arts in Santa Barbara.

Shortly after graduating from Brooks with a Bachelor degree with a double major in Commercial Photography and Advertising, My father Gary Lee Jones passed away. it was hard on my entire family, and I did not take it well. I took a turn into an unknown direction where I had no drive to further my career, and lost most of my ambition to continue with my photography. After struggling to find a job I wouldn't hate, and working in a marketing job for a couple of years I did, I realized that I was ready to re-embark on my journey to become the great photographer I had envisioned in my earlier youth.

Now with a son of my own whom I intend to raise as the best father I can be, I have re-engaged with my photographic passion.

What I do

I am passionate about beauty. I am a very visual person. I look for continuity, or lack of it, as a form of art. I practice bribing the world to display images before my camera that my minds eye creates. The way I have begun to approach my art is not as a service, but as an experience. My clients will be treated like the celebrities they are known to be by their friends, families, clients, and peers.

Join me in creating artistic portrayals of you family, business, hobbies, company, passions, loves, interests, friends life and more!
